My son, Bret, and I many year ago flew relatively inexpensive radio controlled models. If we could take off and do a few loops and rolls and then land successfully we were happy. Today some elite R/C flyer’s fly planes with real jet engines each costing around $3,000.00 and some of the planes in the below clips have eight such engines. Of course when the R/C plane crashes which is not uncommon it is a bad day because most of the plane and engine is not salvageable. I built one ”Pattern” airplane to use in aerobatic contests and it was very slipery (aerodynamic) and I can attest to you from my experience of landing it after the engine quit that the noise you hear in the videos is mostly the airframe slicing through the air and not from the engine.
